LØLØ brought her god forbid a girl goes on tour! to Chicago’s Bottom Lounge on September 23, delivering a night packed with pop-punk energy, heartbreak and plenty of personality. Opening with “the devil wears converse,” she wasted little time getting the room moving before rolling into “pretty little wreck” and the tour’s namesake, “god forbid a girl spits out her feelings!”
The 19-song set pulled heavily from both god forbid a girl spits out her feelings! and falling for robots and wishing i was one, with fan favorites like “u turn me on (but u give me depression),” “faceplant,” “death wish” and “DON’T!” filling out the night. LØLØ also slowed things down for a cover of Plain White T’s’ “Hey There Delilah” alongside Dawson Gamble, while Caroline Romano joined her for “delusional darling.”
After closing the main set with “dumbest girl in the world,” LØLØ returned alone for an acoustic performance of “wish i was a robot,” slipping in a piece of Radiohead’s “Creep” before bringing the full energy back one last time with “hot girls in hell.” It was a fitting ending to a set that showed exactly what makes LØLØ stand out—catchy hooks, brutally honest lyrics and just the right amount of chaos.
